HTML4 was supposed to be the last version, then be deprecated. XHTML is ALMOST THE SAME and only forces you to make cleaner code. It does NOT have limitations, but in fact can do MORE if you know what you're doing. HTML5 is sending the message to people that they can write in crap code again.
