Sharing: "Totally Cool"

Someone else who gets it:

“It’s ok, if one person buys it, it’s totally cool, burn it up, share it with your friends, I don’t care. I don’t care how you hear it as long as you hear it. As long as you come to my show, and have a great time listening to the live show it’s totally cool. I don’t mind. I’m happy that they hear it.”

  1. Not so cool if you're a studio band or sessions musician? I guess they aint cool anyway, right?

  2. I sympathise, but history suggests that new opportunities will appear. Just think of what happened when people stopped using harpsichords in orchestras - keyboard players moved on to that new-fangled piano, and made money in other ways.

The thing is, there is no reason why a particular way of doing things absolutely *must* be preserved; it's a matter of finding an accommodation with evolving situations. Music and musicians will always thrive while there are people with ears to listen to them.
