Credit Where Credit is Due
I missed this story earlier, but it's important because it addresses two key issues: deforestation and carbon emissions. Clearly, incentives need to be given to those who hold the commons - in this case rainforests - in trust for the rest of us. If we reduce our deforestation, we should be compensated for these reductions, as are industrial countries.
Compensation for reductions is not ideal - compensation for holding and replanting would be better - but it's a start.
