Why do we all get the sick feeling of 'embrace, extend, and extinguish' every time I see these kind of moves? Taxpayers should demand only open formats be used for any media produced by the BBC. Archiving what they have in such formats would be nice, too, if the world could afford it.
and I'm sure there's no connection between any of this and the BBC becoming Microsoft's UK advertising agency...
