This sounds needlessly 14th Century to me (see The Great Schism). Linux and Free & Open Source Software have made too much progress to be pulled by their primary rival's unpleasant tactics.

Let's see if we can make Microsoft turn blue by getting on with each other for a week!

I'm rather fond of the 14th century - Guillaume de Machaut is one of my fave composers.
